How I Can Help You

I use Feldenkrais, along with a range of other skills, to help you find the joy of movement.

I work with a variety of people, from those with chronic pain or disability, to those who wish to improve their athletic performance. I have a particular interest in horse riders, but you don't have to be interested in horses to work with me!

For Humans

I work with individuals in classes, workshops and one-to-one lessons to help you learn how to move more comfortably. The Feldenkrais Method is a great technique for the curious of any age and fitness level!

For Horses and Riders

I work with both horses and riders to improve posture, balance and co-ordination, while deepening communication, understanding and respect between the animal and its owner or trainer.

What is Feldenkrais?

The Feldenkrais Method is a way of using awareness to learn about movement, posture and breathing. Through it, we can learn to increase the ease and range of our movement, and improve flexibility and co-ordination.

Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984) is world renowned for the system of body-awareness lessons he developed in his lifetime. There are thousands of practitioners world-wide.

This video provides an introduction to The Feldenkrais Method Awareness Through Movement classes.

I have long been intrigued by this subtle form of retraining the nervous system, which I currently recommend to patients whose movement has been restricted by injury, cerebral palsy, stroke, fibromyalgia, or chronic pain. (I find it to be much more useful than standard physical therapy). I also believe the Feldenkrais Method can help older people achieve greater range of motion and flexibility, and help all of us feel more comfortable in our bodies. ~ Dr Andrew Weil, Author of 8 weeks to Optimum Health
Feldenkrais is the most sophisticated and effective method I have seen for the prevention and reversal of deterioration of function. ~ Margaret Mead, Anthropologist

Self-knowledge through awareness is the goal of re-education. As we become aware of what we are doing, the way to improvement is wide open to us. ~ Moshe Feldenkrais

The body reflects attitudes of the mind. Improve the function of the body and you must improve the state of the mind. ~ Moshe Feldenkrais
